AMBROSE

Blue Jays started to show up in my life a lot, and I regarded them as a reminder that I was safe and being looked after. They represent safety, stability and a sense of groundedness for me that I brought into this small work. I am also experimenting with the color purple, hand-dying and layering these sheer fabrics to play with hiding/masking what is visible to the viewer. It creates a watery, cloudy environment that has a sense of depth that is exciting to me, as well as asking the viewer to spend more time with the piece.
